Medical Surgical Nursing Units Design Experience
For over 22 years, we have performed hands on experience delivering successful healthcare projects. In the course of our healthcare practice we have had numerous opportunities to explore implementing various Patient Nursing Unit design strategies.
Key to our success is the knowledge and understanding that is necessary to properly evaluate the many issues that pertain to nursing unit design.
Budget, spatial arrangement, patient centered
care, infrastructure, accessibility, guidelines and other code related issues, all make up a complex series of relationships which when properly manipulated can create highly successful patient care environments.
Typically our design intervention begins with developing a complete understanding of the physical plant within which the Nursing Unit will be developed or altered. On completion of the infrastructure analysis, an assessment of the budgetary constraints and intent of the project is reviewed, at which time we will spend detailed hands on time discussing needs and intent with the nursing staff.
Study of process, patient care delivery and movement in the unit. Out of this analysis exercise, the design and planning process will present a unit that will enable the healthcare facility to deliver patient care depictive of its mission and vision.
Our additional expertise in performing construction in the complex healthcare setting, knowledge of Interim Life Safety Measures, Infection Control Risk Assessment processes and creativity in executing complex construction phasing sequences enhances and expands the depth of our project delivery capabilities.
