Scope: Mobile Emergency Room Trailers
Client: Hackensack University Medical Center
Location: Hackesack, New Jersey, currently deployed in St. Croix
HackensackUMC contracted with Pomarico Design Studio to design a Mobile Acute Care Hospital. The MACH was to utilize two existing 43’ mobile emergency room trailers, which would be compiled with a new Mobile Surgical Suite (MSS) via a series of interconnects to form a mobile acute care hospital cable of seeing patients in a variety of care delivery scenario’s ranging from natural disasters to the Super Bowl.
The MSS was designed to act as a a complete surgical suite, complete with scrub facilities, surgical field, and a small Central Processing area. All vehicles operated stand alone and met all the requirements for licensure. The MACH was deployed during Hurricane Sandy on Long Island to aid a facility that was severely damaged by the hurricane. Pomarico Design Studio performed planning, compilation scenarios, and industrial design services in addition to healthcare planning.
